Egor Demin has a lot of things going for him.
BYU legend Jimmer Fredette is a fan. His passing vision and execution is exceptional. And oh yeah, he's a 6-foot-9 point guard.
That's his measurement in shoes. Officially at the NBA Combine barefoot, Demin measured in at 6-8.25. That's taller than Cooper Flagg's 6-7.75 without shoes.
That makes it all the more remarkable that Demin is viewed as a lead guard.
Of course, there's a strong history of tall playmakers. Magic Johnson was listed at 6-9. LeBron James is 6-8.
No, we're not saying Demin will reach those heights.
But his height could certainly work in his favor at the next level.
The native of Russia is a bit of a polarizing draft prospect. He had a blazing start to his freshman season at BYU but cooled off considerably in the latter stages.

All told, Demin averaged 10.6 points, 5.5 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game on 41.2% from the field and 27.3% from the line.
If he can't shoot, Demin will have a much harder time translating to the next level.
But even if he can improve his outside shot just a bit, Demin can be a really dynamic NBA player.
Whoever takes Demin is betting on upside. And in that category, he possesses plenty.
