Burnley welcome Chelsea to Turf Moor on Sunday as Premier League action returns after the final international break of 2025. The moods in which both teams entered the latest break couldn’t be more different: while the Clarets suffered successive losses, the Blues picked up two wins on the trot in the top flight.
Since returning to the Premier League this season, Burnley have been unable to replicate the defensive rigidity that had become synonymous with them in the Championship. Under Scott Parker, they have been leaky at the back and have conceded 22 goals so far this campaign.
Only West Ham United (23) and Wolverhampton Wanderers (25) have shipped in more. But Burnlley have seldom gone down without a fight this season. In their last eight matches across all competitions, they have failed to score only in their 2-0 loss to Arsenal.
They will be looking to recover from a 3-2 loss to fellow relegation battlers West Ham United in their latest outing.
Meanwhile, Chelsea travel to Turf Moor on Saturday riding on the back of back-to-back wins over Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League. The Blues kept a clean sheet in each of those games. The two wins also bookend a 2-2 draw with Qarabag FK in the UEFA Champions League.
Chelsea are currently third in the Premier League table and trail leaders Arsenal by six points. Coach Enzo Maresca's unit are currently navigating an injury crisis of sorts. Maresca is hoping that the likes of Enzo Fernandez, Pedro Neto and Benoit Badiashile recover in time for Saturday.
Meanwhile, Cole Palmer, Romeo Lavia, Dario Essugo and Levi Colwill sidelined.

Burnley vs Chelsea Prediction
Zian Flemming has been in good form for Burnley and the Clarets have not really struggled from a shortage of goals this season. The problem has been their leaky defence. Chelsea are equipped with enough firepower to exploit the Clarets' defensive vulnerabilities.
The Blues could be pardoned for taking a cautious approach to their Turf Moor visit with a high-profile Champions League contest with Barcelona on the horizon. Regardless, they should be able to secure all three points on Saturday.
Prediction: Burnley 1-3 Chelsea
