A bully who attacked a subway rider while yelling homophobic slurs was busted after three months on the loose for trying to skip a train fare, cops and sources said.
Yeshayahu Carraway, 41, had attacked a 24-year-old man who he followed off a northbound L train at the Lorimer Street stop in Williamsburg around 5:00 a.m. on Jan. 18, cops said.
Carraway was armed with a knife as he allegedly screamed homophobic slurs and pummeled the victim – striking his head and body, police said. The maniac then ran off, according to cops.
41-year-old Yeshayahu Carraway was arrest for a homophobic attack committed three months ago after he was caught trying to duck the subway fare in the Bronx, cops said. NYPDThe 24-year-old man suffered minor injuries, though he refused medical attention at the scene, according to authorities.
But Carraway’s misdeeds caught up with him three months later.
Carraway screamed homophobic slurs at the man while brandishing a knife, and proceeded to thrash him – before running off in the hateful January attack, police said. NYPDThe intolerant terror was arrested Saturday night at 7:40 p.m. after cops caught him trying to duck the subway fare by entering through the emergency gate at Hunts Point Avenue stop in the Bronx, sources said.
It was while Carraway was in custody for fare evasion that cops also connected him to the hateful attack, sources said.
The incident wasn’t Carraway’s first run-in with the law.
The brute has been cuffed for putting his hands on people several times before, having been arrested for assault in 2011 and 2017, according to sources.
