Bulls predicted to trade Nikola Vucevic, Julian Phillips for $13.3 million shot-blocking lob threat

The Chicago Bulls are going into this season with one big decision in mind: whether to start a rebuild or keep going as normal.

Fansided’s Christopher Kline believes they should go with the former decision and fully commit to the rebuild by trading Nikola Vucevic for Utah Jazz rising star Walker Kessler.

The trade would look like this:

Bulls get: Walker Kessler, Jusuf Nurkić

Jazz get: Nikola Vučević, Julian Phillips, 2027 first-round pick

“The Chicago Bulls have needed to move on from Nikola Vučević for like two years now…Now's the time to right that wrong and finally offload Vučević, now on an expiring contract. In addition to taking on Vooch, a potential trade asset ahead of the deadline, Utah also receives a developmental wing in Julian Phillips and a lightly protected 2027 first-round pick. The Bulls take on Jusuf Nurkić's expiring contract (salary filler for a potential future trade) and Kessler, who is installed as Chicago's big man of the future,” Kline wrote.

This would be a good trade for both sides. Kessler becomes the star center of a young Bulls team, and the Jazz get Phillips as a project, a first-rounder, and Vucevic to trade once again for more assets.

Hopefully, the Bulls get working on a deal soon; otherwise, they’ll have to put up with yet another year of mediocrity, and fans will slowly lose interest in the team.
