The Milwaukee Bucks have publicly denied rumors of trading franchise cornerstone Giannis Antetokounmpo, but the possibility remains if their retooled roster doesn’t pan out.
In an attempt to stay competitive in a wide-open Eastern Conference, Milwaukee signed Myles Turner to a four-year, $108.9 million contract, waiving and stretching the remaining $113 million on Damian Lillard’s contract over the next five seasons. The team also re-signed several key rotation players.
However, if Milwaukee’s offseason additions don’t yield the desired results, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Antetokounmpo request a trade.

According to Alan Goldsher of SI.com, the Boston Celtics could put together an impressive package for the two-time MVP — one that could help the Bucks stay competitive while building toward the future.
Here’s Goldsher's proposed trade:
Bucks receive: Jaylen Brown, Payton Pritchard, Anfernee Simons, 2026 first-round pick, 2028 first-round pick, 2030 first-round pick
Celtics receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo, A.J. Green
While at least one additional team would be needed to make this deal financially viable, the Bucks would net a solid return. Brown, a four-time All-Star and prolific scorer, would step into a true No. 1 role in Milwaukee.
Pritchard, the 2024-25 Sixth Man of the Year, would likely take on an expanded role, while Simons — on an expiring contract — would give the team added cap flexibility after the 2025-26 season.
Milwaukee seems highly unlikely to trade Antetokounmpo at this time, but a lackluster start to the season could prompt the superstar to request a trade. Boston has the assets to make a deal happen, and the Bucks could remain competitive while planning for the future.
