Milwaukee Bucks star power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the hot talk of trade for the team as of late, but if the Greek legend had to go anywhere else in the NBA, then San Antonio might not come as much of a surprise to many, given how fond he's proven to be of Spurs center Victor Wembenyama.
As a matter of fact, the "Greek Freak" has said that he believes Wembenyama will be one of the NBA's best and even looks forward to collecting memorabilia of the 2023 first overall pick.
“I want Wemby’s first rookie card ever,” Antetokounmpo said. “I think he’s gonna be one of the best players in the league in the next couple of years. I think he will have a very great career moving forward, so, maybe like a jersey, his first jersey or his first basketball shoe when he played his first NBA game. Those are great investments,” the two-time MVP said.
Of course, Antetokounmpo is already one of the all-time greats in both the history of the NBA and the Milwaukee Bucks, but at the end of the day, he is also a human and his aspiring collection for the Frenchman's career-marking merchandise is completely warranted.
After all, the 2024 NBA Rookie of the Year that almost won Defensive Player of the Year in that same year, a sure sign of great things to come for both Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.
