The Milwaukee Bucks might be dealing with an end of an era, as their aging roster cannot support superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, and he may ask for a trade. If the Bucks are smart, they’ll start looking around and testing the waters.
Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley has a proposition for them, and it involves a surprising team: the Toronto Raptors. Buckley proposes the Bucks send Antetokounmpo and Pat Connaughton to Toronto for a haul in return. The trade would look like this:
Toronto Raptors receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo and Pat Connaughton
Milwaukee Bucks receive: Brandon Ingram, RJ Barrett, 2025 first-round pick (top-two-protected), 2027 first-round pick, 2029 first-round pick and 2031 first-round pick
“They could conceivably fetch even more than this, but it's still quite a package: four first-rounders and two building blocks in Ingram, a former All-Star who just averaged 20-plus points for the sixth straight season, and Barrett, the No. 3 pick of the 2019 draft who's another 20-plus-point scorer and has made significant strides with his efficiency and playmaking the last couple campaigns,” Buckley wrote.
This trade could benefit both sides. The Bucks would get their future back in multiple first-round picks, plus a former All-Star in Brandon Ingram and a former top pick in RJ Barrett.
As for the Raptors, they finally get a true superstar to lead their team once again. Supported by Scottie Barnes and Gradey Dick, the Raptors could once again become contenders in the Eastern Conference.
The Bucks should consider this trade. It’s a win-win for both parties, and sends Antetokounmpo to somewhere he could potentially thrive.
