The Milwaukee Bucks are looking at a potential disaster, as they head to Indiana down 3-1 in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. If they lose, their superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo might want out. With the Bucks having barely any picks in the future, it might make sense for them to send him off.
There is one team that has a boatload of picks and young players that could give Milwaukee what they need. ClutchPoints’ Bailey Bassett proposed the Bucks send Antetokounmpo to the Oklahoma City Thunder, in exchange for a ton of picks and a few players. The trade would look like this:
Thunder receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Bucks receive: Isaiah Hartenstein, Alex Caruso, Nikola Topic, 2025 first-round pick (via Heat), 2025 first-round pick (Clippers pick swap), 2025 first-round pick (via 76ers), 2026 first-round pick (via Jazz), 2026 first-round pick, 2027 first-round pick (via Nuggets), 2029 first-round pick (via Nuggets)
“In fact, the Thunder have more draft capital than any other team in the league. So much so, that they can make a blockbuster trade and still retain enough capital to replenish the roster through the draft for years to come,” Bassett wrote. “A trade for Antetokounmpo might require more draft picks than any NBA trade before. The Thunder should not be afraid to sacrifice a surplus of draft picks because Antetokounmpo is that special of a player, though.”
This trade would be perfect for both sides. It would give the Thunder another MVP to pair with their candidate in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and the Bucks would have seven picks in the first round over the next four years.

They also get a young player with a lot of potential in Topic, and vets who can start right away and make an impact in Alex Caruso and Isaiah Hartenstein.
If the Bucks lose this series, which they probably will, this could be the best trade they can make. It gives them their future back, which they so desperately need.
