Manchester United’s dressing room tension has taken a fresh twist — and it’s got nothing to do with transfer fees or tactical shapes.
This time, it's all about a shirt, a post, and a whole lot of raised eyebrows.
Alejandro Garnacho, who has already been skating on thin ice under manager Ruben Amorim, decided to go full send on Instagram.
The young winger was pictured wearing an Aston Villa shirt with Marcus Rashford’s name on the back — not exactly the vacation content United fans were hoping to scroll past.
The photo, featuring Garnacho in front of a pair of flashy supercars, didn’t sit well with supporters. It also caught the attention of former Watford striker and now-pundit Troy Deeney, who didn’t hold back in his assessment.
“If it was me at Man United and I was [Bruno] Fernandes, I’d wait until he came back and first day I’d just smash him,” Deeney said on talkSPORT. “This is Man United, who do you think you are? You little dope.”
Trouble brewing for Garnacho as transfer suitors circle
Rashford, just completed his loan stint at Villa, is also expected to leave United permanently.
Amorim, clearly not impressed with Garnacho’s response to being benched in the Europa League final, has reportedly told him to find a new club.
Chelsea, Napoli, and even Bayer Leverkusen have been linked with the Argentine winger. But with Garnacho’s social media antics stacking up, potential suitors might want to think twice before swiping right.
Deeney believes the latest stunt is a symptom of deeper problems.
“They’re bored and they’ve got no respect,” he said. “It’s a new generation… they just need a clip round the ear.”
He also slammed United’s current setup, pointing out that such drama wouldn't happen at better-run clubs like Arsenal or Man City.
With Garnacho likely heading for the exit and Fernandes holding the armband, fans will be watching closely to see if discipline returns to the United camp — or if the shirt saga becomes just another footnote in a chaotic summer.
