Canadian manufacturer BRP Inc. confirmed it will stop exporting three-wheeled motorcycles from its Quebec factory to the U.S. after U.S. President Donald Trump’s latest trade measures.

The company said it expects only a minor impact on its results for the fiscal year that ends in January 2027, “as the vast majority of production and shipments for the current season are completed,” spokesperson Emilie Proulx said.

BRP produces the three-wheeled Can-Am Spyder and Can-Am Canyon models in the small town of Valcourt, Que., about a 90-minute drive from Montreal. Those vehicles “will be excluded from importation into the U.S.,” Proulx said in an emailed statement.

Shares of BRP have been whipsawed by Trump’s trade war. They were down almost three per cent in mid-afternoon trading in Toronto on Wednesday after falling 6.5 per cent on Tuesday.

The company also makes Sea-Doo watercraft and Ski-Doo snowmobiles.

The manufacturer said last week that the Spyder model was already hit by Trump’s 50 per cent Section 338 tariffs, and that it was expecting a $200 million net impact from tariffs on products it sells into the U.S.

BRP produces two-wheeled motorcycles in Mexico and is shifting its production of the three-wheeled Can-Am Ryker from Mexico to Vietnam.
