The Atlanta Falcons have been a major talking point this offseason, especially regarding a potential Kirk Cousins trade—but that doesn't appear to be happening for now. However, the next big storyline to watch may involve tight end Kyle Pitts, who could be on the trading block. Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson didn’t sound overly enthusiastic about Pitts’ upcoming season.
“For Kyle, it's just how can he take that next step of, you know, next level of detail, next level of consistency. All those kind of things we’ve talked about with him, and talked about in the past,” Robinson said. “He's in Year 2 of the system and I think what we've always talked about with Kyle is just — play fast. No matter what, play fast, take the thinking out involved with it.”
One team that has reportedly shown interest in the former first-rounder is the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are aiming for a big season.
“They’ve had their eyes on tight ends, too," NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport said. "Kyle Pitts, there was a phone call there. The Steelers are in the market for at least one more playmaker."
From Pitts’ perspective, a move to a more dynamic offense might be appealing.
“But it appears, talking to some other teams, they think Atlanta is at least open to the possibility and Pitts might be as well. I'm told he loves Atlanta, this is not a situation where he's requesting a trade, but if he has a chance to go to maybe a better offense where he's more featured,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said.

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox proposed a trade that would send Pitts to Cleveland.
“The Cleveland Browns may also want to kick the tires on Pitts. They've shown a willingness to add promising players who have underwhelmed before—they traded for Jerry Jeudy last offseason—and could view Pitts as a potential long-term contributor,” Knox wrote.
The Browns might also feature Pitts more than Atlanta has, which could be exactly what he’s looking for. While Cleveland is still in the midst of a soft rebuild, adding Pitts would be a smart long-term move. On the other side, the Falcons would free up cap space in the deal—a potential win-win for both teams.
