Browns to poach another coach from Ravens with OC hire for Todd Monken

The Cleveland Browns are entering the offseason with a lot of work to do to improve the offensive side of the ball. Todd Monken should help, but there is more that needs to be brought in to turn the struggling offense around.

While adding players, specifically at wide receiver and offensive line, will help, the Browns could also use some more coaches to help complete the offense.

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the Browns have found their new offensive coordinator. This new OC, Ryan Switzer, is also coming over from the Baltimore Ravens, like Monken did a few days ago.

Browns to add another ex-Ravens coach to join Todd Monken in Cleveland

"After nine years with Ravens, Baltimore run game coordinator Travis Switzer is starting in AFC North as Browns' new offensive coordinator, per league sources," Wilson reports.

This is a nice hire for the Browns, and while not official just yet, this report all but confirms that the Browns have found their new offensive coordinator.

SWitzer has a link to Monken from their Ravens days, and with his focus on the ground game and tight ends, the Browns are getting a great young mind to join their staff.

Quinshon Judkins, Dylan Sampson, and Harold Fannin Jr. will all benefit from having Switzer on staff. When Monken and Switzer were with the Ravens, the running game and tight end room were always strong groups.

Having Derrick Henry helps, but overall, their RB and TE units were always solid the last few years. And with the talent in Cleveland at both spots, the Browns' offense will have a strength with both positions.

The Browns will need to find some extra wide receivers to help round out this offense this offseason, but for now, having Monken, Switzer, the RB duo, and Fannin, things are finally starting to look up for the Browns offense.
