Browns' starter was carted off in the first half against the Saints

The Cleveland Browns can’t seem to catch a break this year and they were dealt another significant blow during the first half of Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints. Starting left tackle Dawand Jones got rolled up from behind by his own teammate on a pass play late in the second quarter.

Jones immediately went down and the medical staff quickly called for the cart to take him off of the field with his injured leg in an air-cast. The replay didn’t look good and it’s likely the second-year tackle will have his season ended prematurely in each of his first two seasons.

Jones has been working his way back into form after being hampered by injuries earlier in the year. He had recently emerged over Jedrick Wills as the starter at left tackle and had looked promising as a potential answer for the position moving forward.

The Browns will now need to be more aggressive in the offseason to bring in competition and depth for both tackle positions on the offensive line.
