The Cleveland Browns' newest wide receiver is quite familiar with Northeast Ohio.
He's also an intriguing add after a standout rookie minicamp that has set him up with a chance to chase a full-time roster spot.
The Browns inked Luke Floriea to an undrafted free agent deal after he made the most of his minicamp invite this past weekend.
Floriea is a product of Mentor High School, just east of Cleveland, where he was part of a stellar football family.
After Mentor, Floriea went to Kent State, where he finished his college career with 44 catches for 699 yards and seven TDs in 2024.
Floriea is a 5-foot-10, 168-pound slot receiver.
MORE: Browns' Shedeur Sanders has already shown he belongs as an NFL QB
Multiple social media highlights from rookie minicamp showed Floriea catching passes from highly hyped fifth-round pick Shedeur Sanders.
The next step for Floriea will be training camp in late July, where he'll try to break into a receiving corps that does have some room for a new face to emerge.
If Floriea plays in an NFL regular season game, he'll be the seventh Mentor alum to play in the league.
The Ryczek center brothers were the first two, followed by Tom Richey, Tom Barndt and Bob Hallen.
Mentor's only active NFL player is quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.
Floriea is trying to make that double, and he'll get a chance with his hometown team.
