Browns' Shedeur Sanders needs to ‘just get it’ in the NFL after draft slide, says NBA legend

3 hours ago 1

In one way, the tough part is over for Shedeur Sanders. That miserable NFL Draft free fall all the way to the Cleveland Browns at No. 144 had him in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

In another way, the tough part is just beginning. Now, he's got to go win a QB job and prove himself.

There's one way he should approach it, says NBA great Gilbert Arenas.

"[Sanders] got to go into the [NFL] and just get it. It's never about where you drafted it's about what you do once you get there," Arenas said on his show.

As far as positive advice goes, that's the refrain that's been out there since Sanders was drafted.

Do people remember when Tom Brady was drafted? Yeah, the sixth round.

But that's not his prevailing narrative. His Super Bowl rings lead the story.

If Sanders is a success, people will wonder why he fell to the fifth round. They're wondering that already.

But he has the chance to overcome that narrative with his play on the field.

"Just get it" is great advice.

It's a bit like the Nike slogan, "Just do it."

There's no more time to think or to worry. The only way to write the best story is to go out there and make it happen.
