"He doesn’t get caught up with the rhetoric with the media," Deion Sanders said of his son at the time. "Some of the stuff is just ignorant, but he far surpasses that."

Analyst Mel Kiper Jr. has maintained that Sanders deserved first-round consideration throughout the process. Sanders added that he removes everything negative from his routine.
