Tell me if you've heard this before: the Cleveland Browns have a problem at quarterback.
After going from Joe Flacco to Dillon Gabriel, the early returns for the Browns have not been good. Meanwhile, Shedeur Sanders is a total mystery as he deals with a back issue and it remains to be seen if he'll ever get a shot. The fact that Sanders hasn't gotten one yet might be a bad sign.
It's becoming very clear that Gabriel might not be the guy, and it seems the Browns don't want anything to do with putting Sanders under center. Knowing that, it's very possible Cleveland will ditch both in 2026 and draft yet another signal-caller.
Who could that be?
Well, the Bleacher Report Scouting Department predicts the Browns will draft Oregon quarterback Dante Moore with the No. 6 pick in 2026 NFL draft.
With Dillon Gabriel not showing much as the starter and the coaching staff's ongoing unwillingness to play Shedeur Sanders, Cleveland finds itself in the same position it's been since the team returned to the NFL in 1999. The Browns don't have a quarterback and they need to draft one.
Oregon's Dante Moore is young (20) and needs developmental time, but his calm demeanor, play-making skills and natural upside are undeniable. The East Cleveland native could be exactly what the Browns are looking for if he's handled properly after being drafted.
Moore's accuracy is what immediately jumps out about him.
The Oregon quarterback has completed an impressive 71.4% of his passes this season for 1,772 yards and 19 touchdowns to just four picks.
But Moore is more than just an accurate quarterback. He possesses plus mobility to evade pressure and can throw an accurate ball when on the run. His quick release is another positive that will help against better pass-rushes.
One issue Moore has is his arm strength. He tends to loose zip on the ball when he has to heave it downfield, so teams will have to keep that in mind about him.
"Moore brings mobility, accuracy and poise to the passing offense," B/R's Scouting Department said. "He navigates the pocket and locates open targets. Moore's quick release and ball placement will mesh well with Harold Fannin Jr, Jerry Jeudy, and the rest of the Browns' receiving options."
Moore is widely considered one of the top quarterback prospects ahead of next year's draft and could be an option for Cleveland early in 2026.
