Diontae Johnson doesn't like the cold.
Someone should've given him a better rundown of Cleveland, Ohio before he signed with the Browns.
The newest wide receiver for the Browns refused to enter a game last season with the Ravens due to time spent on the bench in less-than-ideal temperatures.
“I wasn’t getting into no run plays, no passing plays or nothing. It was cold,” Johnson said of Week 13's matchup with the Eagles on the Sports and Suits podcast. “End of the third going into the fourth, they were like, ‘Tae, we need you.’ I was like, ‘Nah, I don’t think it’s a good idea for me.’ Like, my legs are already ice cold and I didn’t wanna go out there and put bad stuff on film. It’s not like I didn’t wanna go into the game, but leading up to this point, I had been through so much… I told them I’m not finna go in, so I just sat on the bench, and that’s when they suspended me.”
Johnson had a tumultuous 2024 season all around. He began with the Panthers, then went to Baltimore before finishing the year with the Texans.

He's now with the Browns, a team that needs receiver depth to step up behind Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman. It's a legitimate chance for Johnson.
It's not long ago that Johnson was a star for AFC North rival Pittsburgh.
Apparently, Johnson needs to be on the field from the get-go to avoid freezing up, so he better work extra hard this summer to seize a big role with the Browns.
Because if he's just a depth piece, that'll be a lot of time on the sideline.
And oh yeah, there's this: Has anyone told him about the snow in Cleveland yet?
