While all the attention around the Cleveland Browns is centered around the quarterback battle featuring Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders, there is plenty more to discuss about the team heading into 2025. For starters, the very serious story surrounding the health of linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. The Notre Dame product injured his neck against the Baltimore Ravens in October and missed the remainder of the year. Now, it has been announced he will miss all of 2025 as the Browns have placed him on the Reserve/PUP list.
General manager Andrew Berry released a statement on the matter.
"Jeremiah's health is the utmost importance to us and although he has made progress towards recovery, we've made the decision to place him on Reserve/PUP, which means he will not play football during the 2025 season. Jeremiah has the full support of our team, and we expect him to continue to be a part of the organization even though he will not return to the field this year. We will not make any predictions on Jeremiah's football future at this time, but we do note that he's in good spirits and will continue to take the advice of the world-class medical experts who will continue to guide his progress and recovery."
Without Owusu-Koramoah, the Browns will heavily rely on second-round pick Carson Schwesinger, as well as Jerome Baker and Devin Bush to take steps forward into bigger roles.
