After proving to be one of the better quarterbacks in the country during his time at Colorado, it didn't make much sense that Shedeur Sanders fell to the 144th pick by the Cleveland Browns.
Sanders, who looks happy in Cleveland, might've gotten a blessing in disguise. Not only did he get drafted by an organization linked to him with the second overall pick, but he has a real opportunity to be a starter in the short and long term.
With the Browns having a below-average quarterback room, despite how crowded it is, Sanders really could be the guy.
When speaking to reporters about what he's liked about him so far, Kevin Stefanski, the Browns head coach, said he's very excited about Sanders, adding that nobody cares where he got drafted.

It's time for him to work, no matter if he got picked in the first or fifth round, and he seems to understand that.
“You know, I’m really excited about Shedeur. And the truth is that once you’re in the building, nobody really cares where you were drafted – first round, fifth round, undrafted. I’ve been around so many great players that weren’t drafted,“ Stefanski said, per Penn Live. "So how you end up on this team is really not important to me or to us.
“Shedeur’s a player that we spent so much time with during the pre-draft process getting to know him, whether it was in our building, in Boulder, Colorado, traveling down to the East-West Shrine Game. And then you watch all his tape, I mean he’s got a ton of tape from Jackson State to Colorado. So we’ve done a lot of homework on Shedeur. I’m excited about having him in the building.”
Sanders has heard all the criticism, which goes back to his Colorado and Jackson State days.
Throughout his college career, he proved to be an elite talent, throwing for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns during the 2024 season.
