Cleveland Browns fans are fed up with Dillon Gabriel after his middling performance against the New England Patriots last week.
The former Oregon Duck completed 21 of 35 pass attempts for 156 passing yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions, with a QBR of 18.8.
Is it possible that head coach Kevin Stefanski could make a switch at quarterback when the Browns come out of their bye in Week 10? How long would Gabriel last if he struggled against the New York Jets?
Je'Rod Cherry reveals Dillon Gabriel's leash against the Jets
When asked how long he thought Gabriel's leash would be when the Browns take on the Jets in two weeks, ESPN Cleveland analyst and former NFL player Je'Rod Cherry revealed his answer.
"I could see a situation where it could be a half, it could be the entirety of the game he gets to play, the following week you could see Shedeur Sanders out there, so yeah, big ready," Cherry told his co-hosts.
"Because at some point the pressure's gonna be that, hey, are people going to go to the games if he's [Gabriel] quarterbacking? No. But if Shedeur is out there? They will. They're coming in droves."
Now, Cherry may have a general idea of what the leash could look like for Gabriel, but until he actually gets pulled from a game or benched, we're not sure what Stefanski will do with the quarterback position.
In the meantime, Shedeur Sanders, who every Browns fan is clamoring to see, will have to wait his turn.
