"Brother-sister kind of vibe" - Female ex-WWE star clears the air on getting intimate with Kevin Thorn

WWE Superstars are often paired up together as an act, and sometimes their on-screen relationship evolves and weaves into their personal lives. Recently, Shelly Martinez cleared the air on whether she got intimate with Kevin Thorn.

Kevin Matthew Fertig, aka Kevin Thorn, had two separate runs in the Stamford-based promotion under Vince McMahon's creative regime. Thorn gained a decent amount of success when he had a run on the company's new version of ECW alongside Ariel.

In an appearance on The Velvet Ropes with SoCal Val, Shelly Martinez, aka Ariel, cleared the air on her getting intimate with Kevin Thorn during their time in the Stamford-based promotion. The former WWE star stated that many fans assumed that the two had something more going on in real life, but the two were professional as an on-screen couple.

"Everyone and their mom thought we hooked up, and that's just like, so not the truth... Kevin and I had a very brother-sister kind of vibe... when he pulls me into him [in the ring], I'm talking sh*t to him... 'You're an a**hole'... He never tried to creep out on me. Will Shelly Martinez, aka Ariel, return to WWE?

Shelly Martinez, aka Ariel, had a short run in the Stamford-based promotion, which lasted two years. The 45-year-old ex-WWE star spent most of her time on the ECW brand with Kevin Thorn and was released from the company a few weeks after Thorn was written off television.

In an interview with Ring The Belle from 2024, the 45-year-old claimed that the company tries to avoid mentioning her or the work she did in the promotion as Ariel. With these claims, it's hard to see her returning to the Stamford-based promotion under the new regime in the coming months or even for a one-off appearance.
