The Denver Broncos don't have a ton of holes to fill this offseason, but the team has some work to do at wide receiver.
The Broncos have a solid veteran receiver in Courtland Sutton and some promising young wideouts behind him, but for a team with legitimate Super Bowl aspirations, Denver needs at least one more veteran playmaker for the group.
While we would love to see the Broncos make a huge splash, YardBarker's Seth Trachtman predicts Denver will instead sign Rashid Shaheed in free agency.
"Shaheed and Sean Payton didn't overlap in New Orleans, with Payton departing following the 2021 season and Shaheed signing out of the draft in 2022. Still, he's likely very familiar with the explosive wideout and kick returner, and Shaheed's skillset would be a perfect fit for a Broncos squad that needs more explosive weapons," Trachtman wrote.
On top of giving the Broncos and quarterback Bo Nix a much-needed veteran weapon in the receivers room, Shaheed would add more explosiveness to the offense with his elite big-play ability.
Shaheed is also an electric returner and would bolster Denver's special teams unit.
Spotrac estimates Shaheed's next deal will be for three years and $42.3 million, which is a solid price for what Shaheed brings to the table.
The problem is that the Seahawks are likely going to want Shaheed back, and they have over $40 million more in cap space than the Broncos, so Seattle can outbid Denver if they clash for Shaheed.
While we do believe Shaheed will ultimately land back with the Seahawks, Denver is certainly a logical landing spot for the two-time Pro Bowler if he doesn't re-sign in Seattle.
