This offseason, many fans of the Denver Broncos considered the team's biggest need to be a true No. 1 wide receiver, one who could be a legitimate threat on the outside for Bo Nix to get the ball to.
The problem was that the free-agent market didn't offer a ton of options and neither does the incoming draft class. So the Broncos may need to get creative with a trade or just hope they can get more out of their current crop of receivers.
But outside options are already dwindling.
One player that many connected to the Broncos this offseason is Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown. It would require an expensive trade to obtain him, but it seems that he has given the Eagles a list of teams he would be interested in being shipped off to, according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, and the Broncos are not on that list.
Then, right as the free-agent tampering window opened at 10:00 am Mountain time, it was reported that the Indianapolis Colts will retain wide receiver Alec Pierce on a huge deal.
Pierce had been connected to the Broncos and seen as a "best fit" for him by many analysts. That price tag likely scared the Broncos off, however.
Which free agents are left at wide receiver?
The market was never strong to begin with, and with Pierce already signed, it leaves the Broncos to consider options such as Mike Evans, Deebo Samuel, Tyreek Hill or Wan'dale Robinson. However, those players have not been connected to the Broncos much this offseason.
One player who has is Green Bay Packers free-agent wide receiver Romeo Doubs. However, that would be a much more underwhelming signing than the kind Broncos Country is looking for.

The Broncos have Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims Jr., Troy Franklin and Pat Bryant all on the roster for next season. But if they don't add a dynamic player to this group this offseason, it will be seen as a big disappointment.
