The DEnver Broncs 2025 season ended in major disappointment. Not just because they were eliminated from the playoffs in the AFC Championship game, but also because of how they were eliminated.
A 10-7 loss without Bo Nix is a crushing way to go out, and now, Sean Payton and George Paton will have their work cut out for them this offseason to rebuild the roster into a championship contender.
Luca Evans of The Denver Post shared some post-season reflections from Evan Engram, the tight end who was supposed to be the Broncos' "joker" this season. Evans highlighted the Broncos' looming $11 million decision with Engram and how it's an easy one.
Broncos have an easy $11M Evan Engram decision this offseason
"Now, in the final year of a two-year deal," Evans writes, "Engram's set to make $11 million in base salary in 2026. Denver can save $3.8 million in dead cap space, according to Over The Cap, if they cut Engram before June. Squint, and the writing's on the wall."
Engram, the former New York Giants and Jacksonville Jaguars tight end who signed a $16.5 million guaranteed deal last offseason with the Broncos, might not be in Denver for long.
After a disappointing 2025 season from Engram, the Broncos have little reason to hold onto him through the rest of his current deal.

Instead, the Broncos are very likely to cut him this offseason, saving $3.8 million. After his poor performance all year, it's a no-brainer for the Broncos.
Engram had 50 catches for 461 yards and just one touchdown in his first year in Denver. He and Payton never gelled, evidenced by the other tight ends on the roster starting over Engram at times this season.
The Broncos are very likely to move on from Engram this offseason, thanks to his lackluster play, the ability to save $3.8 million, and the Broncos' trying to improve the team for another playoff run next year.
