The Denver Broncos were dealt some crushing injury news right after their win over the Buffalo Bills, as quarterback Bo Nix suffered an ankle injury on the final, game-winning drive of the game.
Now, backup Jarrett Stidham will take his place. It's some awful news for the Broncos, as this injury couldn't have happened at a worse time.
But, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, there is some good news coming for the Broncos on the injury front. Schefter revealed that J.K. Dobbins might be able to play against the New England Patriots in the Championship game.
Broncos open practice window for J.K. Dobbins
"Sources: Broncos are opening the practice window for RB J.K. Dobbins, who suffered what was thought to be a season-ending foot injury in Week 10 against the Raiders," Schefter reports. "Dobbins has a chance to play in Sunday's AFC championship game vs. the Patriots."
This is finally some welcome news for the Broncos on the injury front. After the Nix injury announcement, the Broncos needed some good news.
While this doesn't guarantee that Dobbins is playing, the Broncos running back might now have a chance to suit up for Denver in the biggest game of the year.

What makes this even bigger than it normally would be is that, with Stidham leading the offense, having a strong running game to take the load off his shoulders would be massive.
RJ Harvey and Jaleel McLaughlin aren't terrible by any means, but Dobbins, when healthy, was great for the Broncos this season.
He had 772 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 153 attempts this season through 10 games, and was on pace to set career highs in nearly every statistical category.
Denver getting Dobbins back to pair with Harvey and McLaughlin would be massive for the offense against the Patriots. This is some very welcome injury news for the Broncos, a change of tune from Saturday's brutal announcement.
