Broncos announce three more players have re-signed with team, updated free-agent tracker

The Denver Broncos are one of only two teams in the league, the Seattle Seahawks being the other, not to sign a single player from another team in free agency so far. However, they seem to be on a mission to re-sign everyone.

On Wednesday, the team reached new deals with tight end Lucas Krull, fullback Adam Prentice and defensive lineman Matt Henningsen. Each of them agreed to a one-year deal.

Krull will be entering his fourth season in Denver, but he missed more than half of the 2025 season. He has 29 career receptions but will rejoin a tight ends group that includes Evan Engram, Adam Trautman, Nate Adkins and Caleb Lohner.

The Broncos signed Prentice last summer when Michael Burton and Adkins were dealing with injuries. He was inserted as the team's fullback and held that role all season, playing quite well. Sean Payton insists on a fullback in his offense and Prentice, who began his career in Denver as an undrafted free agent before playing for the New Orleans Saints for four years, will have a great chance to keep that position in 2026.

Henningsen was a sixth-round pick for the Broncos in 2022 out of Wisconsin. He tore his Achilles tendon during a joint practice with the San Francisco 49ers last August and subsequently missed the entire season. For his career, he has 40 tackles and one sack in limited action.

Broncos are returning nearly every free agent in 2026

Here is an updated free agency tracker for the Broncos.

The only free agents to get away so far are John Franklin-Myers and P.J. Locke. They also made the decision to release linebacker Dre Greenlaw. Aside from that, the Broncos appear to be returning nearly the entire roster from 2025.

The only unrestricted free agents the team still has out there are wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey, center Sam Mustipher, Marcedes Lewis, Michael Burton and Jaleel McLaughlin.

The Broncos chose not to tender a contract to McLaughlin, who was a restricted free agent, but he could be brought back on a cheaper deal. Mustipher was only signed for depth at the center position late in the season and Lewis will turn 42 years old in May.

The signing of Prentice makes Burton expendable, but he also didn't play a down for the team last year. Humphrey is a player Payton likes, so it would not be a surprise to see him get a new deal as well.
