“Bro needs Cody back in his company” - Fans divided over Tony Khan’s comments on Cody Rhodes’ AEW exit

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes was signed to AEW from 2019 to 2022. He achieved moderate success in the Jacksonville-based company, having won the TNT Championship thrice. Interestingly, he never held the AEW World Championship.

Cody Rhodes has a complicated relationship with All Elite Wrestling and Tony Khan. Even though the 40-year-old was one of the co-founders of the company and served as an EVP during his time there, he claimed that he felt disrespected.

Khan recently responded to Cody's comment in an interview with Q101 Chicago. He said that he disagrees with the champion's statement and said that he has also said a lot of positive things about the Jacksonville-based promotion. Furthermore, he said that he has nothing bad to say about the American Nightmare's All Elite Wrestling run.

“I’m not sure I agree with that, but I also would give him the benefit of the doubt that I’ve heard him say a lot of positive things, too. For somebody that doesn’t work here and that’s involved in the competitive promotion, he’s usually pretty gracious with the things he says. And I’ve seen him since he’s been gone, and it’s always been very positive and good. I have only good things to say about him and his contributions here.” said Khan.

Khan's statement received various responses on Twitter. Some praised the 43-year-old's mature response, while others said that he really wants the Undisputed WWE Champion to rejoin his company.
