It seems that the refs were really on Brittney Griner’s mind.
Just moments before conducting a halftime interview with CBS Sports during the Dream’s 83-75 win over the Wings on Saturday, Griner, 34, stepped away to explode on the officials, creating a pretty awkward on-air moment.
Though it is not exactly clear what the Dream center fully said to the refs, she ended the exchange by yelling at them to “be f–king better.”
After finally getting back to the courtside interview, the nine-time All-Star apologized for her fiery interaction.
“Sorry, y’all,” Griner said quickly to the camera.
Griner was her team’s second leading scorer, finishing with 15 points and eight rebounds, shooting 50 percent from the field as the Dream moved to 2-2.
Griner is in her first season with the Dream after spending 11 seasons with the Mercury, where she won two Defensive Player of the Year awards, along with winning the WNBA Finals in 2014.
The Baylor alum’s career came to a halt in 2022 when she was detained in Russia for nearly a year on drug charges in which she pleaded guilty to bringing hashish oil into the country.

Griner had gone to Russia to play overseas during the WNBA offseason, something she had done multiple times throughout her career.
Following her release in December 2022, Griner opened up on her time in Russia, saying that she has no plans to go back after explaining the reason why she went over there in the first place.
“If I make that (U.S.) team, that would be the only time I’ll leave the U.S. soil and that’s just to represent the USA,” Griner told reporters in 2023. “The whole reason a lot of us go over is the pay gap.

“A lot of us go over there to make an income, to support out families, to support ourselves. So I don’t knock any player that wants to go overseas and want to make a little bit extra money.
“But I’m hoping that our league continues to grow and with as many people in here now covering this I hope you continue to cover our league and bring exposure to us.”
The nine-time All-Star has averaged 17.7 points and 7.4 rebounds in her impressive WNBA career.
Griner and the Dream will next play the Sun on Sunday at 3 p.m.
