The Milwaukee Brewers added pitching depth on Tuesday, signing a four-year Major League veteran.
According to the New York Post's Jon Heyman, the NL Central club agreed to a minor league pact with right-hander Peter Strzelecki.
The 31-year-old reliever has previous experience in the organization, having spent parts of two seasons with the Brewers from 2022-23.
Strzelecki recently opted out of his minor league deal with the New York Yankees to pursue other opportunities. Heyman reports that he will head to Milwaukee's Triple-A affiliate in Nashville.
In 2023, Strzelecki threw a career-high 37 Major League innings with the Brewers and Arizona Diamondbacks. He struck out exactly nine batters per nine innings in 37 relief appearances.
The D-Backs acquired him in a trade that sent veteran lefty Andrew Chafin to Milwaukee.

Overall, he's posted a 3.44 ERA with a 24% strikeout rate and 8.4% walk rate in 83.2 MLB innings.
The Yankees had several relievers ahead of Strzelecki on the depth chart, including top prospect Carlos Lagrange and hard-throwing righty Yovanny Cruz. There was no clear path to playing time for Strzelecki.
