Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski reveals it will 'feel good' to prove All-Star doubters wrong

The Milwaukee Brewers might have the best pitcher in Major League Baseball dominating on the mound for them right now.

Jacob Misiorowski is pitching some incredible baseball right now and has easily been the most eye-catching pitcher this season. His 104+ mph fastballs and incredible recent stats against the Philadelphia Phillies have him as the clear All-Star favorite right now.

Compared to last year, when he received a ton of flak for his All-Star selection, Misiorowski is, as USA Today's Bob Nightengale shared, looking forward to proving his doubters wrong this summer.

Jacob Misiorowski is looking forward to proving All-Star doubters wrong

"It will feel good, proving people wrong about last year," Misiorowski told USA Today Sports.

The Brewers ace has been nothing short of incredible this season, as he has a 1.34 ERA with an 8-2 record, and most recently faced the minimum against the Phillies, though he missed a perfect game thanks to a Kyle Schwarber single.

He's been one of the best pitchers in MLB this season, and is very clearly the top candidate, along with Phillies ace Cristopher Sanchez, to start the All-Star Game for the NL All-Stars this year.

For as incredible as Misiorowski has been this season, last year, he was someone who earned an All-Star nod despite not doing nearly enough to warrant a nomination.

Before the All-Star Game in mid-July, Misiorowski made five appearances, going 4-1 with 33 strikeouts in 25.2 innings pitched with a 2.81 ERA and 3.88 FIP. Those are good numbers, but not enough to warrant an All-Star nod.

But, with pitchers sitting out due to injury, turning down the chance to join the All-Star team, and the lack of other good options, MLB turned to Misiorowski, offering him a chance that he had every right to take.

And if there were any doubters from last year's All-Star nod, Misiorowski's proven them wrong this season. While there is still a question of whether he will start the All-Star Game, since there's still plenty of time for things to change, he's the frontrunner.
