Brewers continue to rise in power rankings after stellar week

There were some concerns heading into the new season for Milwaukee Brewers fans. They weren't sure what to make of the team's decision to trade ace Freddy Peralta ahead of the season.

However, the front office may have known something that everyone else didn't. Peralta has not had the strongest season this year, holding together a 3-4 record with a 3.55 ERA across 66 innings of work.

With Peralta gone, Jacob Misiorowski has stepped up, but he's not the only one. Kyle Harrison has also looked the part this year, and the two have been a great one-two punch.

Brewers continue to rise in power rankings after stellar week

While the pitching staff has done its job, you can't win games without some offense. Luckily for the Brewers, they have gotten solid offense from top to bottom.

Catcher William Contreras leads the team with his .295 batting average and 34 runs batted in, while Jake Bauers leads the team with his nine home runs.

You also cannot forget about Brice Turang and his team-leading .391 OBP.

With this, Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter has bumped the Brew Crew from No. 5 last week to No. 3 this week in his latest power rankings.

"The Brewers rotation looked like a potential weakness heading into the season in the wake of the Freddy Peralta trade. Instead, Jacob Misiorowski and Kyle Harrison have been a dominant one-two punch, and the starting staff as a whole ranks fourth in the majors with a 3.11 ERA. They went an MLB-best 19-7 in May, and have built a 4.5-game lead in the NL Central standings."

Milwaukee was the best team across MLB in May. They will look to keep up that momentum and carry that into June, starting with a four-game series against the San Francisco Giants. After that, they take on the Colorado Rockies.

If everything goes to plan, it will be another dominant week, and one that moves them up another spot in the future power rankings.
