The Milwaukee Brewers are routinely one of the better teams in Major League Baseball in recent years, despite not having the most elite pitching staff or the best offense.

They've built a budget team that, while there is some star power on the roster, has been best known for their ability to get the most out of players.

2026 has been no different, and it might be an even greater feat than before. As Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report highlighted, the Brewers are elite in four key metrics that are the most Brewers statistics possible to lead the league in.

"Milwaukee is leading the majors in walk rate (12.1 percent), leading the majors in stolen bases (38), leading the majors in bunt hits (12), and ranks second in the majors in sacrifice bunts," Miller writes.

Milwaukee's offense is elite at stealing bases, drawing walks, getting bunt-hits, and sacrifice bunts. It's small-ball for the Brewers, and the most fitting statistics for the Brewers to be elite at this year.

For a team like the Brewers, being elite at many of the core tenets of a small-ball team couldn't be more fitting.

While teams like the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, and, in theory, the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies are well-renowned for their power, the Brewers are a more under-the-radar team.

And what better way to be under-the-radar than to be elite at the statistics that aren't the most eye-catching? Instead of homers, in which they have 22 for the 29th in MLB, the Brewers are elite at the smaller things.

Milwaukee is 18-16 on the season and has an impressive 42-run differential. They've gotten to this point thanks to their elite presence at the plate that has little to do with their power presence, and instead their ability to whittle down pitching staffs.

For a team like the Brewers, there's no more fitting group of metrics to be elite at than these. Walk rate, stolen bases, bunt hits, and sacrifice bunts are the encapsulation of small-ball, and the Brewers being the best or close to it is so fitting.
