Manchester City are back in Premier League action on January 14 as they head to Brentford.

Pep Guardiola's side hammered Salford City 8-0 in FA Cup Third Round action as Brentford suffered a cup shock as they lost 1-0 at home to EFL Championship side Plymouth Argyle.

Guardiola knows his team have plenty of work to do to rise up from sixth in EPL rankings, but they are unbeaten in their last three league games, against Brentford side who have lost their last three home matches in all competitions.

Thomas Frank will recall his big guns following their FA Cup defeat with Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa and Nathan Collins in line to return to the starting XI.

However, his selection plans will also be impacted with eight injury absentees including Ben Mee, Igor Thiago and Ethan Pinnock.

Guardiola will follow suit and bring back in his star names including Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden.

Defensive duo Ruben Dias and John Stones remain out and Kyle Walker is doubtful after Guardiola confirmed he is looking to leave the club this month.
