Breaking down Yankees’ options to improve lineup before trade deadline with few quick fixes available

The Yankees have transformed into a low-scoring team that scratches out rare runs without injured stars Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Cody Bellinger. So with two days to go before Monday’s trade deadline, they were understandably focusing heavily on bats.

While they’re expected to check in on superstar pitcher Tarik Skubal and also try to upgrade their surprisingly effective bullpen, it’s becoming clear their main goal is to add offense.

And their timing isn’t exactly great.
