Braves acquiring Lane Thomas from Royals ahead of trade deadline as right-handed bat domino falls

Cross one right-handed hitting option off the list of names for the Yankees to possibly pursue ahead of the trade deadline.

The Braves acquired outfielder Lane Thomas — alongside left-handed pitcher Bailey Falter — from the Royals on Saturday, The Post’s Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman confirmed.

Minor-league pitchers Carter Holton and Lucas Braun will both head back to Kansas City, the team announced.

Thomas, in his first season with the Royals, was pulled from the middle of Kansas City’s game Saturday night and had hit .230 with a .717 OPS and 10 homers this season entering the game.

Falter has dealt with elbow inflammation this season and appeared in five games, with two starts, for the Royals, collecting a 13.97 ERA.

But Thomas, who was limited to just 39 games last season in Cleveland due to an injury, will get a chance to boost a Braves lineup ahead of another playoff push, with Atlanta leading the National League East by 8½ games.

Braun is the No. 8 prospect in Atlanta’s system, according to MLB.com.
