Matt Olson refuses to shut down. The Atlanta Braves' first baseman has not missed an MLB outing since March 2, 2021, when he was a member of the then-Oakland Athletics.
Appearing in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Miami Marlins at Truist Park, Olson appeared in his 896th straight game, moving past Hall of Famer Stan Musial and into sole possession of eighth place on the all-time consecutive games played list.
The No. 3 hitter in the Braves' batting order went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. He's hitting .266 with a team-best 31 home runs and 69 RBI.
Olson possesses the league's longest current streak by nearly three seasons. Baltimore Orioles' Pete Alonso ranked second at 523.
Olson continues to earn his streak status, starting all but one game.

What's next?
Assuming he remains injury-free, Olson remains under team control until 2031, and if he continues to be a daily fixture in the lineup, he could move into seventh-place all-time by the end of 2027 and just two more spots into fifth place by the end of '28.
