The Atlanta Braves are currently taking on the St. Louis Cardinals in a three-game series. On Thursday, it will be a rubber match between the two squads, with the Braves desperately needing a series win.

Before the series finale, the Braves are making a pair of roster moves. First, Atlanta is designating Rowdy Tellez for assignment and also recalling infielder Jim Jarvis.

Braves make pair of roster moves

The Braves X account wrote (on Thursday morning):

"The #Braves today recalled INF Jim Jarvis to Atlanta and designated INF Rowdy Tellez for assignment."

Rowdy Tellez signed to a minor league deal earlier this season and has only received 10 at-bats with the Braves. In those 10 ABs, Tellez recorded two hits and 4 RBI, but struck out three times.

It's certainly plausible that Tellez is brought back on another minor league deal if he clears waivers.

As for Jim Jarvis, he's also received a very limited amount of at-bats this season with the Braves' big league club. In five ABs, Jarvis has one hit on the season, but manager Walt Weiss has already indicated that Jarvis will start in the series finale against the Cardinals' right-handed starter, Dustin May.
