Brad Keselowski pays emotional tribute as he shares favourite Greg Biffle story after plane crash tragedy

The NASCAR community continues to mourn following the devastating plane crash tragedy that took the lives of retired NASCAR driver Greg Biffle and members of his family. Amidst a wave of shock and grief throughout the sport, Brad Keselowski shared a deeply personal and emotional tribute, reflecting on the kind of person Biffle was away from the racetrack.

RFK Racing driver/co-owner Keselowski revealed on X that he was going through his own surgery when he received the news of the tragedy. Keselowski broke his leg during a family ski trip on Thursday (December 18). Now, he is going through a recovery.

Taking to X, Brad Keselowski shared a story that shows Greg Biffle’s nature as a human being. He recounted a time a few years ago when he reached out to Biffle to help a friend who was struggling with a loss and how the former O'Reilly Auto Parts Series champion planned everything.

“I broke my leg and was going into surgery when the tragic plane accident happened to Greg and his family. Not really sure the words to say so I’ll share a story I called Greg a few years ago telling him my friend really needed a fun trip after losing a family member, could we all go ride his UTV’s together to show my friend a good time? Without missing a beat he made all the plans & we had a great sand dunes trip, my friend was all smiles. This trip means so much more now… this is my favorite Greg story, Will miss you and your family #GodSpeed” Keselowski wrote on X.

Along with Biffle, the horrifying plane crash took the lives of six other people, including Biffle’s wife, Cristina; children, Emma and Ryder; pilot, Dennis Dutton, and his son, Jack Dutton; and friend, Craig Wadsworth.


“He was certainly a friend”: Jimmie Johnson sends a heartfelt message to Greg Biffle’s mourning family

Seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson was among those who were devastated by Biffle's untimely demise. Johnson had raced against him, and they were friends off the track. The last two days had been sad for NASCAR and the sport.

Taking to Instagram, Johnson paid tribute to his friend and his family and wrote:

“The loss of Greg Biffle and his beautiful family is unspeakable. Greg was one of the most spirited competitors I've raced against and he was certainly a friend. My heart is hurting for his loved ones, family, friends, and fans.”

Greg Biffle, 55, left this world leaving a legacy as both a NASCAR legend and a humanitarian who used his skills for good, particularly after disasters like Hurricane Helene. He was named among one of NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers in 2023.
