For the second straight World Series game at Dodger Stadium, Toronto Blue Jays slugger George Springer, who was part of the controversial Houston Astros squad that won the 2017 World Series against the LA Dodgers, received loud boos when he made his way out of the dugout to the field in the pre-game lineup announcement.
Springer's former team Astros, were alleged to have stolen signs and conveyed the same to their hitters in various ways, like using a trash can or an electronic device inside the jersey during the 2017 season. MLB suspended the managers and leveled punishment against the organization, but the players were given immunity.
Ever since, Dodgers fans have been hostile to every key player who was part of the Astros from that World Series.

However, this time, the Blue Jays fans didn't keep silent to this hostile treatment at Dodger Stadium. They made their reactions known on social media.
"Like he gives a f*ck. Boo the cheater, Mookie, you hypocrites," one fan wrote. "But somehow they welcome Mookie Betts when it’s also been known he cheated with the 2018 redsox," another fan asked the Dodgers to boo their own player as well for the same reason. "I’m guessing the boo Mookie every time he comes to the plate, right?" one fan added. "Worst fanbase next to the Yankees ofc," another wrote. "Certainly Teoscar Hernandez and Mookie Betts got the same treatment," one fan sarcastically said. "Terrible fan base, terrible team, terrible plastic town. Are the drag queens the halftime show?" one fan noted.Ernie Clement shares his reaction to Dodgers fans booing George Springer
The Blue Jays played the World Series Game 3 at Dodger Stadium, and they were let know that George Springer was not forgiven in this part of the world.
Springer is receiving hostile treatment, and his teammate Ernie Clement reveals that he does the same thing but for a positive outcome.
"Yeah, when he gets booed, I usually boo as well," Clement said. "Every time we hear the boos, I'm up on the top step of the dugout booing him and telling him he sucks. And then he'll hit a home run, and he shuts everybody up. So it's just special to watch him, especially on this stage. "He just continues to do it over and over again. I remember watching that Houston and Dodgers World Series -- those were some of the best World Series games ever. They were just so exciting. And he just continues to get it done on the biggest stage. It's cool to be a part of."Springer himself has numerous times talked about the treatment he receives when he's in LA, but he remains undeterred and stays focused on his job.
