Blue Jays might have fixed Jeff Hoffman

The Toronto Blue Jays have dealt with plenty of problems this season, and it has led to lots of disappointment after having made it to extra innings in Game 7 of the World Series to end the 2025 campaign.

Many of the problems still exist, but the Blue Jays seem to have at least solved Jeff Hoffman's issues.

Hoffman, who blew the save in Game 7, opened this year in miserable form. It was just a mighty struggle.

He earned himself a demotion from the closer role, and he's had to work to prove he still deserves decent bullpen opportunities.

Lately, though, Hoffman is dealing. Check out this stat from Sportsnet:

That's really impressive and shows that Hoffman has found his mojo again.

He won't be reclaiming the closer role for the Blue Jays anytime soon, because Louis Varland has proved he's great in that spot.

Hoffman has instead raised the question of whether he's a trade candidate before the August 3 deadline, if Toronto indeed is a seller.

Relievers are often the easiest to trade, if they're pitching well, and Hoffman certainly is pitching well again.

The Blue Jays gave him a chance to find himself again in lower-leverage spots, and it worked. 

But now that Hoffman is back, it's an open question what his future looks like. If he keeps getting outs at the level he is right now, he'll be happy just to be feeling like himself again.
