Eloy Jimenez and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. are officially teammates for the first time on Sunday.
The Toronto Blue Jays sluggers have been connected for a long time before this, though.
Jimenez didn't used to be a part of the Toronto organization -- he only signed in the offseason, and he began the campaign at Triple-A Buffalo.
He was called up on Sunday with George Springer placed on the 10-day Injured List, and Jimenez is now back in the major leagues.
He didn't get a single MLB appearance in 2025. It's been a long time since he hit 31 home runs in his rookie season for the Chicago White Sox.
Anyway, about that connection.
The 2019 MLB Pipeline top-100 prospects list featured Guerrero at No. 1.
Behind Vladdy in the 2-spot was Fernando Tatis Jr.
And the No. 3 prospect on that list? Jimenez.

Vladdy worked out. Tatis worked out.
Jimenez, after a fast start, has not.
Maybe a fresh start with a new team in the majors will give Jimenez a jolt. He's with a winning bunch.
Guerrero might have a few pointers, too. After all, they've climbed the ladder at a similar rate from afar before their paths diverged. Now, they join together.
