MLB hitters surely spend the days before Opening Day doing some kind of visualization for how they want the season to start.
They definitely don't imagine going hitless through a team's first handful of games.
Sadly, that's where Addison Barger and Josh Naylor find themselves.
The Toronto Blue Jays' right fielder and Seattle Mariners' Canadian first baseman are two of the five qualified hitters who don't yet have a hit this season:

To be clear, it's too early to make any sweeping judgements here.
This is simply just a sad stretch of play for Barger and Naylor. It may not even get noticed in the middle of a season.
But when there averages are .000? Yeah, people notice.
Barger is 0-for-12 so far with five strikeouts.
Naylor is 0-for-15 but has only struck out three times and has already been unlucky on hard contact on a couple of occasions.
The hits should come soon enough for both of these talented left-handed bats.
But yeah, hitting is hard, and sometimes the pitchers win.
