Bluegrass virtuoso Billy Strings just extended his 2026 tour, adding 11 East Coast summer shows that will take place from mid-July through late August.
That includes a pair of concerts at Bethel, NY’s Bethel Woods Center For The Arts on Friday, July 31 and Saturday, Aug. 1.
These concerts follow the tireless 33-year-old’s already-scheduled winter and spring treks, which are slated to go down at venues all over the South and Midwest.
In total, he has 33 gigs (which includes two, three and four-day residencies at venues) in the books for this year.
Based on our findings at Set List FM, Strings regularly mixes up what he plays on a nightly basis. In fact, there was zero overlap at his two most recent shows at Austin’s Moody Center on Dec. 13-14, 2025.
On night one, he performed 36 songs over two sets. Then, 24 hours later, he played a completely different two-set show.
“There’s just a whole well of tunes to pull from the bluegrass songbook and I like to mix it up,” the Michigan native explained in a November 2024 interview with The Bluegrass Situation.
“Like, if we did ‘Cumberland Gap’ last time, then let’s do ‘Ground Speed’ this time and if we did ‘Ground Speed’ this time, next time let’s do ‘Clinch Mountain Backstep.’ And then sometimes you play a tune and it feels good, so then it will stick around.”
Given the ever-changing nature of their live show, they still somehow are able to impress critics.
“…watching these guys shred for two-and-a-half hours is enjoyable in ways that are both musical and athletic,” Uproxx noted in a glowing review. “On extended workouts like ‘All Fall Down’ and ‘Turmoil And Tinfoil,’ they place their fluid instrumental lines in the overall mix with the grace and precision of the ’90s Chicago Bulls running the triangle offense.”

Billy Strings new music
On Sept. 27, 2024, Strings released his sixth studio album “Highway Prayers.”
As expected, the ever-prolific 32-year-old went all out on the rousing record. Clocking in at 74 minutes, “Highway Prayers” wastes nary a second of the listener’s time. Opening track “Leaning on a Travelin’ Song” is a masterclass in pickin’ and harmonies. It’s a good time and would make the perfect soundtrack for a montage in a road trip movie.
After that, the rollicking offering rolls right along with the energetic yet wistful “In The Clear,” longing, instrumental ‘Escanaba” and chilled-out “Gild The Lily.”
Don’t stop there, though. The album continues delivering the goods all the way to the epic final track “Richard Petty,” which just so happens to be a showstopping a cappella spiritual.
