Elizabeth Hurley healed his achy breaky heart!
Billy Ray Cyrus opened up about his unexpected romance with the sex symbol after the pair went Instagram official on Easter Sunday — revealing he’s had “chemistry” with Hurley since they met in 2022.
The Grammy winner, 63, and Hurley, 59, shocked the world when they debuted their relationship in a photo showing him kissing her cheek over the weekend.
While sources told Page Six that “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery” actress’ friends — including Elton John — are confused and in disbelief of their relationship, Cyrus is spilling about their “beautiful” bond in an excerpt of his upcoming interview on “The Ty Bentli Show” obtained by People.
He recalled meeting Hurley while filming “Christmas in Paradise” shortly after he separated from his second ex-wife, Tish Cyrus, in April 2022.
“We did very few scenes together but the couple times we were in the same scene there was a chemistry there,” he shared. “We just laughed, and it was at a time I wasn’t laughing a lot.”
Cyrus continued to speak about their chemistry, adding that their humor drew them to each other.
“The oddest part was first, how much we laughed. Second, I figured we were so different but in some very strange way we had way more in common than we had different,” the country star stated, adding they “didn’t speak for two years” after filming.
Cyrus was referring to his 2024 divorce from his third wife, Johanna “Firerose” Hodges, based on the timeline.
The pair went through a nasty public split after just seven months of marriage.
“I felt like, ‘Wow, can life get any harder? Can it get any tougher?’ For me, at a certain point it was like, you can’t get knocked down any flatter than laying on your back when life is kicking you,” he continued. “And in this moment… a friend reached out.”
Cyrus explained that he “didn’t even know the number” of whoever sent the text, which read something similar to, “Hey, it looks like life might be a little bit tough and just wanted you to know I’m in your corner; you’ve got a friend in your corner.”
Miley Cyrus and Noah Cyrus’ father explained that he texted back, “Who is this? And it’s like, ‘Elizabeth Hurley.’”
He shared that “of all the people to reach out to me in that second that maybe I needed most… this friend who made me laugh.”
Cyrus went on to describe Hurley as “a great human being” and said she has qualities similar to his dear friend Dolly Parton.
“If all we ever were [is] the friends that we are, I would take that. She’s so impressively brilliant. She reminds me a lot of Dolly Parton. She’s a very smart businesswoman,” he said, adding, “If you can laugh together, you can make it through everything.”
Cyrus also promised that are more PDA pics in the couple’s future.
“There will be one coming where she’s kissing me because people have been saying, ‘Why’s he always kissing her?’ Unfortunately when I see her, when she puts her cheek out there, I don’t know what happens, I just kiss it,” he explained.
On their time together, Cyrus said, “It’s just been beautiful,” clarifying, “and again, no expectations of where we go from here other than her and her son — I do love him a lot, and it’s great that God brought them into my life when he did. It’s just a good thing. It’s been a long time since I’ve been this happy.”
Cyrus has three ex-wives under his belt.
The country singer shares daughters Miley, Noah, and Brandi, as well as sons Trace and Braison with Tish. He’s also a dad to Christopher Cody from a previous relationship.
Besides being married to Tish from 1993–2022 and Firerose for seven months, Cyrus also wed Cindy Smith in 1986. Their marriage ended in 1991.
Hurley was only married once to businessman Arun Nayar, from 2007 to 2011.
She has one child, 23-year-old son Damian Hurley, from her previous relationship with the late Steve Bing.
