Bills urged to sign WR from AFC rivals in free agency

The Buffalo Bills' receiver issues, to an extent, were solved when the franchise signed DJ Moore in free agency.

That puts Moore at the top of the depth chart and gives Josh Allen a true No. 1 weapon.

But behind Moore are Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Joshua Palmer, and Tyrell Shavers. Is that enough?

You could make that case.

But Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport has another name that the Bills should be looking at, and that's Juju Smith-Schuster.

"Juju Smith-Schuster's days of catching 100 passes and topping 1,400 receiving yards are long past him," Davenport wrote. "But it wasn't that long ago (2022) that Smith-Schuster caught 78 passes for 933 yards and three scores with the Kansas City Chiefs, and the 10th-year veteran won't turn 30 until November."

Is Smith-Schuster the answer?

Well, he would be another Brandin Cooks-like signing, in the sense that it is a veteran receiver coming in on a cheap deal.

In his last three seasons, Juju hasn't surpassed 350 receiving yards and 2 TDs, so exactly what the Bills would expect out of him, as maybe the third or fourth receiver, isn't known.

Granted, he could bounce back with Allen and Joe Brady calling the plays, but how confident are we that it will happen?

Smith-Schuster is a good idea, but I'm not sure the Bills would think it is anything more than that.
