The Buffalo Bills planted their AFC flag in the ground at Highmark Stadium in a 28-21 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, and if we are being truthful, the scoreline made it look closer than it actually was.
The Bills thoroughly outplayed the Chiefs and were fully deserving of their win, extending their regular-season winning streak over Kansas City to five games.
Josh Allen was superb, so too running back James Cook (114 yards), and the defense had a game plan for Patrick Mahomes that was perfectly executed.
As such, in Pete Prisco's latest power rankings, the Bills move up to No. 2, climbing eight spots in the process.
"Beating the Chiefs behind a strong defensive showing is a good sign for the future," Prisco writes. "That defense will ultimately decide whether this is a Super Bowl team."

Bills must continue playoff push
The win over Kansas City will be for nothing if Buffalo doesn't take care of business against the Miami Dolphins this week, and it is another chance to edge closer to the New England Patriots for the division lead.
The Bills have now set the floor, and no, that kind of performance we saw against the Chiefs isn't sustainable for the rest of the season, but Sean McDermott's team has something to aim at.
Shoot for the stars and you'll land on the moon.
The Bills have to do that, and at 6-2, they are in a good spot with the Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Houston Texans, and Pittsburgh Steelers to come in the next month.
Navigate that, and the Bills could be in the thick of it for the No. 1 seed in the AFC if results go their way as well.
Buffalo knows it's under pressure to deliver a Super Bowl in 2025, but first, it's got to book its spot in the postseason.
