Bills next coach odds: Ex-Giants head coach Brian Daboll now favored for Buffalo job

There’s a new favorite to be the next Buffalo Bills head coach. 

Former Giants head coach Brian Daboll is the leading candidate for the job, according to Kalshi, a New York-based financial exchange and prediction market.

In a crowded field with some surprising names, Daboll, who was fired by Big Blue in November, currently has a 39 percent chance at landing the position, which is the best odds on the market. 

But there’s plenty of competition for the job, especially after the team revealed they’re considering some eye-opening candidates. 

Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who has been a popular name during this coaching cycle, has the second-best chances at 19 percent. 

The Bills’ current offensive coordinator, Joe Brady, has the third-best shot at 14 percent. 

Here’s where things get weird. 

Philip Rivers, who is coming off a wild NFL comeback at the age of 44, is also sitting at 14 percent.

Rivers, who spent 18 total seasons in the league, was coaching at the high school level before shockingly taking the starting quarterback role in Indianapolis in December. 

Mike McDaniel, who landed the Chargers’ offensive coordinator job after being let go by the Dolphins, is set to interview for the Bills’ opening


Betting on the NFL?


As of Friday afternoon, he was being given a 10 percent shot at landing the gig.

The Bills are looking for a head coach for the first time in nine seasons after firing Sean McDermott following Sunday’s loss in the AFC playoffs to the Broncos. 

No matter who gets the job, star quarterback Josh Allen is expected to play a major role in the process.
