Bills' James Cook scouts win over Chiefs with 2 words

The Buffalo Bills made it two wins in a row and five in succession over the Kansas City Chiefs with a 28-21 win that now puts everything at ease for Sean McDermott's team.

After a two-game losing streak entering their bye week, the Bills have now rattled off two wins in a row, and the win over the Chiefs now puts Buffalo back into the vision of those looking at the Super Bowl contenders list.

The offense was efficient all night, with Josh Allen only having three incompletions, while running back James Cook had 27 rushing attempts for 114 yards as the Bills' offensive line bullied the Chiefs' defensive line all game.

And for Cook, when asked about his thoughts on beating the Chiefs, he detailed that it means a little more.

"I mean, tough game, just getting a victory over those guys is always meaningful," Cook said.

Bills' playoff hunt back on track

Things were a little wobbly for a couple of weeks, but the Bills have now steadied the ship, and at 6-2, despite being second in the AFC East behind the New England Patriots, all feels right in the world for Bills Mafia.

There are still plenty of tough games to navigate for the Bills, but the Chiefs have always been a measuring stick game for Buffalo, and as it has done for the past five times in the regular season, McDermott's team passed the test.

The Bills are in the unenviable position of not really being judged for their regular-season efforts; everyone wants to see them come through in the playoffs. So yes, the win over the Chiefs was good, but it doesn't do much for the narrative surrounding the franchise when the postseason rolls around.

Buffalo's win is meaningful for Cook, but we bet that if the Bills now go on a run and stamp their authority in the postseason, we might look back on this Week 9 game as the moment when things clicked for Buffalo.
