Bills, Broncos set crazy NFL TV history never done before

The Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos played a thriller in the AFC Divisional Round on Saturday, Jan. 17.

The Broncos ended up winning the game in overtime, 33-30, and there have been plenty of consequences.

Bo Nix fractured his ankle on the game-winning drive, meaning Jarrett Stidham will start at QB in the AFC Championship Game.

The Bills fired head coach Sean McDermott in response to the loss.

And it turns out the game made some television history, too.

Sports media reporter Richard Deitsch shared that 39.6 million viewers took in the game.

It is the highest total ever for an NFL playoff game on a Saturday.

Fans of the Broncos and Bills surely dealt with some elevated heart rates.

In the end, Denver fans got to be happy, even if it was reduced by news of the Nix injury.

Bills fans had to grapple with another season ending too early.

It certainly was a game worth tuning in for, and lots and lots of people did just that.
